UPDATE: Absentee ballots

It's not just one little, old lady in McLennan County, it's 58,000 people in Broward County, too. Broward County, Florida that is. Via Raw Story:

Local 10 has learned that many as many as 58,000 ballots that were supposed to mailed out on Oct. 7 and 8 could be missing. The Broward County Supervisor of Elections office is saying only that the situation is "unusual," and they are looking into it. Gisela Salas, Broward Deputy Elections Supervisor, said, "I hate to say 'missing' at this time because that has not yet be substantiated. Some ballots are starting to arrive. But there is an extraordinary delay."
I would hate to say missing too, especially when you are talking about 58,000 ballots for a county that is heavily Democratic in a battelground state in a highly-contested presidential race. Poor guy. Holy shit; this has got to be a joke. We're going to need UN inspectors to certify our election in 2008 just to be sure the Republicans don't try to steal that one.
